Bad Breath-How To Know If You Have It

Thursday, March 4th, 2010

How do you know if you have bad breath? The fact is one out of four people have it with some studies reporting half the adult population suffering with this condition. So what causes the bad odor in your mouth?

Eating certain foods, health conditions and habits are major causes. In many cases, the problem can be resolved with proper dental hygiene. If you’ve tried improving your dental hygiene through better brushing and flossing and still don’t see improvement, you should consult with your dentist or doctor to rule out a more serious health problem as a cause of your condition.

External Causes: There can be two origins of this problem-external and internal. External origins can come from some of the foods you eat in your daily diet, especially if you love spicy or stinky foods (such as onions, cooking spices, garlic, and even tuna). If you believe the odor in your mouth may be caused by this reason, make notes in a food log and record what you ate and when you notice an odor. If you have tobacco and alcohol habits, these can also develop an odor in your mouth.

Internal Sources: Internal sources can develop in your mouth and affect your entire body. Your tongue is the perfect breeding environment for bacteria to stay and grow. Odor producing bacteria emit a chemical called volatile sulfur compound (VSC’s). Hydrogen sulfide and methyl mercaptain are the main elements to cause odor. These odor producing bacteria can be found in the back area of your tongue.

Other Sources: There can be several sources that lead to odor formation in your mouth including: Poor denture hygiene can lead to food and plaque accumulation causing odors to develop; Dental problems such as poor dental hygiene, gingivitis and gum disease; Infections of the throat and sinus; Dry mouth due to poor saliva flow, especially when caused by medications or radiation therapy for cancer; Dieting; and having systemic diseases such as GI conditions, diabetes, kidney/liver failure, and lung infections or abscesses.

If you have a bad breath problem that won’t resolve itself with daily dental hygiene, have your local dentist determine the cause of the problem. He or she may also prescribe special mouthwashes designed to fight bad VSC’s in your mouth.

Continue with your efforts to improve your dental cleaning techniques by brushing with a flouridated toothpaste, flossing, and using other over the counter aids such as an interproximal brush cleaner and a tongue scraper.

What You Can Do to Get Your Ex Girlfriend Back When She’s Dating Another Man

Sunday, November 8th, 2009

A break up with your ex girlfriend can have a muffling effect on your confidence and your happiness. The only thing that is harder than a break up is when your ex girlfriend starts to date somebody new. That can be a truly dispiriting experience, because if you are like most guys, you probably invested a great deal of time and vitality into your relationship. You can relax, because I’m going to give you some advice on how to get your girlfriend back, even when she’s dating someone else.

It is true that every relationship is special, different, and unique. Yet, the basic reason that your girlfriend abandoned you is commonly uniform in all relationships. That reason is that your girlfriend eventually lost attraction for you. I know that sounds a little bit harsh, but if you think about it, you will see that it’s true. Does she still treat you and think of you the same way she did in the start? Women are normally not able to bring themselves to leave a man that they are truly attracted to and infatuated with.

Before you read this and give up on getting your girlfriend back, I want you to understand something. Just because your girlfriend lost attraction for you does not mean that you cannot get her to come back to you, because you can. All it takes is an understanding of female psychology. If you understand how your girlfriend’s mind works, then you can make her attracted to you all over again. This may sound a little manipulative, so let me clarify some things for you.

What is the harm in you getting your girlfriend back (even if you have to use a few manipulative tactics) if the only reason you want her back is to make her happy? There are a lot of bad men out there, and so if your intentions are to treat your girlfriend with love and kindness, then you should not feel bad about getting her back in any way possible. In this case, the ends justify the means.

Don’t be a sucker and think that simply by being a nice guy you can attract your girlfriend to you again. Try that strategy, and she’ll wind up closer and closer to this new guy she’s with. In order to get real results, you are going to have to make her want you all over again.

Try not to get disheartened at these words either. Realize that it was you who attracted your girlfriend in the first place, before this new guy was even on the map. And you can do it again!

To get your girlfriend back fast before she gets serious with this other man, my advice is to make sure that you fully understand female psychology and what makes a woman drawn to you. It does not really matter when your ex girlfriend is dating somebody new, if you know what makes her tick and this new man does not.

I can tell you exactly how to get your girlfriend back. Take a look at my website: girlfriend Advice Why Did My Girlfriend Dump Me

A Few Facts About Degree Deodorant

Friday, October 23rd, 2009

The market out there is cluttered with deodorant products with all kinds of claims of effectiveness and desirability; but there are always those that stand out of the crowd; and Degree deodorant is one of those. It has a history of effectiveness that out does many other products, and the variety of products under the Degree umbrella are many.

The main motto for Degree deodorant is “stop odor before it starts”, and that has been their pledge from the beginning. Their technology works in sync with your bodily functions to prevent the actions of bacteria and other factors from becoming a problem, and they literally have got you covered so you can be odor free in any stress situation.

For men, Degree deodorant products go the extra mile and bring many varied products to the table for those guys involved in any type of stressed or active situation, such as sports, or heart pumping risky maneuvers, or stressed out workplace goings on. Their main logo for men’s products, is “Protects men who take risks” and that along with some fantastic marketing videos and catchy labels form the core of the push for the men’s business. Some of the labels for the products are Degree Ultra Clear Cool Rush, Degree Men Aerosol Extreme Blast, or Degree Ultra Clear Silver Ice—all of them producing good visual responses in the consumer.

Then, the world of women is invaded by Degree deodorant. The motto for the women is “Dare to feel” and that alone conjures up all kinds of images; and then the labels take the thought to another level— the Classic Romance collection (containing body fragrances as well as deodorants). Anything with the word romance in it is a fish hook for women; then you have the standard collection of clinical protection, invisible solid, and ultra clear products.

Another whole world not to be left out by the Degree deodorant manufacturers, is that of young adolescent girls, who have their own unique set of deodorant problems. The catchy phrase for this battery of products for girls is “Protection for every OMG moment”; and not only is there a whole set of products that would appeal to young girls, but there is also a club called the OMG Girls Network that they can join for all kinds of fun stuff. The products here are 3 in number and range from Tropical Power, to Just Dance, and Love. Good ole Love—gets ‘em every time. The whole idea was created for teens, and there is even an expert online that parents and girls alike can consult for help with questions or problems.

One unique factor that sets Degree deodorant products apart from the rest found on marketplace shelves, is that Degree uses silver ion technology in producing its products. Silver is an odor fighter and has been used for years by the military and the space program for that purpose—–the silver is embedded in the apparel worn by the personnel. Likewise, Degree uses silver ion technology in its deodorant products for odor control.

All of the above factors make Degree deodorant products some of the most popular of all those found on the market today, and if their marketing techniques are any indication of the ability these folks have to produce a genuinely good product; then they are certain to be on top of the heap for a long long time.

The Search Is On For The Best Antiperspirant Deodorant

Sunday, August 23rd, 2009

Finding the best antiperspirant deodorant can be a big job for some of us because we all have our unique makeups, and what works for one person can fall flat for another. We live in a society where looking good in public goes hand in hand with smelling good, and being human; our bodies do not cooperate when it comes to being sweet smelling and daisy fresh all the time. So we have to compensate by finding a product that can stop us from sweating a lot, and keep our inherent bodily odors down to a minimum.

As a result of needing to be sweet smelling and dry, the researchers in the science of armpit conditions have come up with a whole bevy of creams and sprays and gels and roll-ons in search of the best antiperspirant deodorant. The first line of defense are the deodorants because they contain the ingredients that will modify the pH of your skin to the point where the bacteria that live and party on the skin can no longer proliferate. It’s all in the chemistry where the stick deodorants especially make the skin more acidic (lower the pH) so that the bacteria’s growth is halted and they can no longer feed off the sweat and cause the odors that emanate from your armpits. The sweat itself is clear and has no inherent odor, but it’s a different story when the bacteria start to feed on it and proliferate because they are the culprits that produce the smell. Another chemistry take on the problem is to use the natural crystal sticks, because they make the skin more salty and the bacteria have trouble with that too. There are deodorants that will put antibacterials in the mix to halt the growth of the bacteria as well.

On the other hand, antiperspirants act in a totally different way. They are not concerned with what you smell like, they are there to stop the sweat from getting out onto your skin in the first place. The way that happens is that the chemicals—usually aluminum salts—-plug the openings of your pores in the skin under your arms ( or anywhere on the body for that matter), and stop the sweat from getting out on the skin surface where the bacteria can get at it. Now you see the need for the best antiperspirant deodorant: the sweat is prevented from getting through the skin, and the bacteria are kept from not only getting at the sweat, but from propagating as well, so the end result is that fresh as a daisy euphoric state.

As we all know, life is not fair, and there are those of us who sweat much more than others and in consequence stink more than others to the point of being offensive to the average person; so for these people, the over the counter products usually do not work very well. For them to find the best antiperspirant deodorant that will solve their dilemma, they must turn to a physician to prescribe something much stronger for them to do the trick. Two of the products most often prescribed are called Odaban and DrySol. If other avenues are needed to help the sweating odoriferous sufferer, then sometimes surgery is recommended. The surgery involves separating the nerves that control the sweat glands from the spinal column and in this way incapacitating them so the sweating is greatly reduced. One other method that has come into vogue recently is Botox injections in the skin of the underarms so that the action of the sweat glands is stopped by paralyzing the sweat glands temporarily.

As we all participate in this lifelong search to find the best antiperspirant deodorant, we also are met with some real health concerns when it comes to using products on the skin that actually contain aluminum, which has been implicated in the onset of Alzheimer’s disease. Also, if we are plugging up pores right and left, and stopping the natural course of action of allowing the sweat to flow; are we also trapping toxins in our bodies that would cause breast cancer. After many years of research, and much investigation into these concerns, the answer to both is a resounding “no”. So you can rest easy, that these products are not incriminated in either of these scenarios.

So, after all this research, personal testing by thousands upon thousands of consumers, and just downright personal preferences for continuous performance; what is the best antiperspirant deodorant out on the market today. Studies have shown, and consumers have seconded the motion; that the most effective product is Dove Antiperspirant Deodorant tied with Secret Platinum Protection and followed in a close second position by Secret Clinical Strength Antiperspirant Deodorant for both sweat control, and odor protection.

There is hope out there after all, and we can rest easy knowing that there are good products available that fit the mold of best antiperspirant deodorant for our use. Life is too stressful and moving too fast to have to worry about whether you are leaving an odor cloud behind you, so finding the product that works the best for you and sticking with it, will make life in general a lot simpler in the long run.

Anxiety Sweating In Your Life And What To Do About It

Saturday, July 4th, 2009

Think about it. When was the last time you made it through a day without being anxious about something and suffered the unfortunate result of sweating profusely because you couldn’t control the way your body reacted to the stress. Even the cavemen had anxiety in their lives. The thought of a wooly mammoth bearing down on you as you raced for the security of the cave with nothing between you and him but a little stick pointed on one end is enough cause to make you sweat profusely. We’ve come a long way from the caveman days, but we still have plenty of situations that cause anxiety and the resultant sweating. The unannounced summons by your boss to the inner office (“Please close the door behind you.”), to the kids not being home when they were supposed to be, to your wedding day—all of these are stressors in our lives that can overwhelm rational thought processes and cause our bodies to react and sweat profusely.

So let’s examine some ways that you can get control over your life as it is today, and lessen the bouts of anxiety so in turn you can reduce the number of embarrassing times of profuse sweating that plague your day. One of the most effective ways of getting your life into a manageable pattern is to have a running schedule of some sort, so you know how your time is to be allotted during the weeks and what you have to get done in a timely way. That way, when something unexpected is suddenly thrown into the mix, you won’t collapse under the stress of it all and suddenly have an attack of anxiety sweating. And how about getting some exercise on that schedule too. There is nothing better for your peace of mind than to be fit physically and to feel good, not only about the way you look but actually feel good healthwise. Another good thing to try is biofeedback. This trains your mind and body to respond to commands you give it so if you are in the throes of a stressful set back, you can calm down, reduce your heart rate, and regulate your breathing by simply talking to yourself and bringing your stress level down so the sweating is not triggered.

Another factor you need to keep under control so your stress level doesn’t escalate to sky high levels, is your finances. There is nothing more frustrating in life than to have your finances totally screwed up and every time you go past the desk or table where you do the bills, you have a mini panic attack. And we all know what that leads to; yep, anxiety sweating. Just think of all the fun times you are missing out on because you are letting your life control you instead of the other way around; and that goes for all those jobs that you need to have done around the house that you keep thinking you will get to “some day”. Get on the stick and get them done. Make a schedule if you have to, but take some action. You will find that the more order you bring into your life, the more positive you will feel and the less stress and anxiety you will have.

One big factor that can cause unbelievable stress in many people’s lives is their relationships with other people and how they handle them. Your marriage may leave a lot to be desired, or maybe you have been recently widowed, or your co-workers on the job are not the type of people you want to deal with on a daily basis. Any of these scenarios can cause stress in your life and you are then at the mercy of your emotions which in turn will lead to an active bout of anxiety sweating. Just step back and take a good look at how your interpersonal relationships fit into your life, and for anything that causes a negative reaction, get to work on it. Take some decisive action and make sure you evaluate just what part of your life your relationships with people plays, and work on that angle so that you can change whatever factors need to be modified and made positive so they no longer pose a threat as a stress producer.

Now we need to take into consideration just what is going on when your body reacts to stress and anxiety sweating in all its glory is the end result. We are still cavemen at heart. Genetically we have not progressed much from the days of outrunning the wooly mammoths and our bodies are designed to have just two choices on how to react to stress: stay and fight, or run like hell. We may have all the techno-stuff that our little hearts desire from cell phones to beds that react to us and cars that talk to us; but we still can’t manage the genetic programming that drives our inner core. When we are presented with a stressful situation, the body reacts by pumping out adrenaline from the adrenal glands so we can run like hell if we have to; but our more sophisticated brains say: “Wait a minute, this is not right, I’m going to do something about this and take care of the problem.” So we have an inner battle going on, and the body’s mechanisms are pumping out all kinds of chemicals that will help us either win the fight or make it over the next hill running our butts off. As a result, we sweat. The body is overheated with the fire of impending doom, and it is trying desperately to cool down and sweating is the means to that end. And because most profuse sweating of this sort is usually the result of some kind of stress in our lives that we can’t immediately squelch; then anxiety sweating is what rears its ugly head.

But, don’t despair. There are many ways to relieve yourself of stressful situations without making your body go through all that. Plan time to take a walk, and truly involve yourself in the walk. Listen to the sounds around you, look at the colors, smell the smells; let yourself bond once again with the most basic of needs we have as humans, to be one with Mother Nature. That old adage rings true when someone advises you to “stop and smell the roses”. Life is more than schedules and alarm clocks and deadlines; it is pulsing with excitement and fun and happiness. You just need to slow down and let it happen. Keep your life on as even a keel as you can muster in your own little corner of the world and you will find that the better you feel about yourself and your way of life, the less you will be subjected to bouts of anxiety sweating because you are in control.

All being said and done: life is full of excitement, happiness, danger, and stress. You are the one that needs to take control and keep your life in balance so that the negatives don’t outweigh the positives. When there is too much negativity in your life and you have a hard time seeing the silver linings, then it is time you took stock of your way of living every day and examine it closely to see where you can make changes for the better and can make it a more positive experience. Opportunities are all around you and are there for the taking; you just need to recognize them, and recognize that you need to make changes that will allow you the freedom to grab some of them before they all pass you by. Life is one big parade, and there is no better way to live it fully than to stop standing on the sidelines with your anxiety sweating consuming you, and step into the line of march, get in step, feel the rhythm of the positive drum beat, free yourself of worries, and go for it.

How To Fight Anxiety Sweating And Take Control Of Your Life

Thursday, June 25th, 2009

So what to do about it. What are some of the ways that we can get our lives into a workable state that will help to prevent this anxiety sweating from happening. How about a weekly schedule that can be broken down into a daily record of what you need to do and when. That would help get you on track so that you are prepared for life’s ups and downs and are not knocked sideways when the unexpected happens. Regular exercise helps too. When you are fit, you feel better and you are not so likely to go off the deep end when emergencies strike or just plain stresses occur, and you can control yourself better and not succumb to a tailspin of pounding heart and sweating. Or how about biofeedback. When stress occurs and anxiety sweating is just around the corner, stop; get your ducks in a row and mentally force yourself to listen to your breathing, breathe deeply, and take a few minutes to just calm down. It works.

The next step in trying to control anxiety sweating is to get your life in general under control. Don’t let your finances get out of whack to the point that you can’t bear to look at the desk with its mound of bills and dun letters and as a result your heart pounds and you chew your fingernails and you sweat. And your work schedule. Balance the hours needed to be spent at work with the hours needed to be spent at home. Life keeps on trucking and you will miss out on a lot as well as ruin a lot of clothes with unnecessary bouts of sweating because you let work control your total life and not just be a part of it. And have a schedule of what needs to be done when you are home. Don’t keep putting off jobs around the house; work at them on a regular basis and you will see how less stressed your life will be in a very short time.

And because most profuse sweating of this sort is usually the result of some kind of stress in our lives that we can’t immediately squelch; then anxiety sweating is what rears its ugly head.

So what to do about all this. One of the best ways for relieving stress and gaining control over our daily lives is to slow down and start to interact with the natural world around you. Take a walk and really take a walk, don’t just amble along. Look and listen and smell, and you will be amazed at how much your system will calm down just by enjoying the pleasures that are all around us in nature. We are inherently connected to nature in everything we do, and when we let it flow into our senses, we revitalize that natural connection and it gives us the stamina to take on the stressors of the day. Our lives are filled with all kinds of techno gadgets and we need sometimes to just remove ourselves from that frenzied beeping world and slow down. “Stop and smell the roses” says a lot.
