If you are considering a career as a massage therapist, there are a number of considerations you’ll want to make before you begin your training.
The first is the length of time you must devote to training, then the additional training that is necessary to become an expert massage therapist.
Each state licenses massage therapists differently, so it is difficult to make generalizations. Only 37 of the 50 states in the U.S. have licensing regulations for massage therapists. The required amount of training varies from 330 contact hours to 1,000 contact hours providing hands-on therapy.
There are also varying requirements for classroom hours a therapist must complete in the classroom. These programs range from just a few weeks to two years, depending on the regulations in the state and the structure of the program.
Although those in an unregulated state can start practicing massage therapy with little or no training, it is clear that thy would not be able to gain or keep clients without the proper training.
After you get the appropriate training, you’ll want to either join a facility or start your own practice. Whichever you choose, you will need to follow some basic guidelines for working with clients.
Make sure each client receives quality therapy at each session. They’ll be sure to return and send others your way. You want to become genuinely involved in the community in which you practice, and contribute in truly valuable ways.
Have a clear vision of what your goals are so that every move you make is leading you closer to your goals. Be positive and affirming with yourself and with clients, and work hard to preserve your reputation so that you will benefit from word-of-mouth clients.
When you are done training and looking for a job as a massage therapist, you’ll have a few options. One is the opening of your own practice. This has implications far beyond simply the massage therapy expertise, requiring good business skills, marketing skills, and negotiating skills as well as the massage skills and customer skills.
There are many salons, resorts and spas that also hire massage therapists. There are a variety of websites and organizations that are dedicated to matching spa service providers with the employers who need their services, so find out about those bulletin boards and websites.
Remember that you can work part time as a massage therapist, but you will have to consider that you need to be available when clients want your services. This may well mean that you need to work evenings and weekends. However, on the positive side, the work is pleasant, and the pay is good. The hours tend to be flexible for a person willing to work when the clients need the services.
Massage therapists may work in spas and salons, but there are other areas of massage therapy as well, such as prenatal massage, infant massage, sports massage, and medical massage. There are also different massage types offered at spas, such as stone therapy and Reiki.

If you’re planning a boat wedding, you want everything arranged down to the last detail. That means one of the first determinations is what time of day to get married. Most people avoid the early morning for a boat wedding, since the sea air tends to be cool. Although you can find a spectacular sunrise for the backdrop, many people who want to have the sky in a multicolored hue behind their boat wedding will opt for a sunset as the background.
Another consideration is bright, midday sun and its effect on your clothes, hair, cake, and guests. Overhead light and heat that is too bright causes clothing, hair and guest to wilt uncomfortably, unless you have a large boat and an indoor ceremony.
So for an outdoor boat ceremony, midday may not work. Of course, Toronto weddings and cruises on Lake Ontario don’t have some of the same considerations about heat, since the temperature is milder than some tropical locations.
The couple can then be more flexible about the time of day that they plan their wedding. The couple will also want to consider the direction of the sunlight and what effect it will have on photographs and the comfort of the guests.
For example, while you’ll want plenty of light, you don’t want light originating behind the photo subjects, or the people in every photo will have shadows on their faces. Additionally, you won’t want all of your guests staring into the sun as they are attempting to view your wedding ceremony.
You should consider the angle of the sun and the hours of daylight in the area where you are having your wedding cruise so that you can plan for the best sunlight scenario.
If your wedding is on one of the Toronto cruises on Ontario Lake, then you’ll have different considerations than someone using a tropical cruise charter.
Late afternoon remains a very popular time of day for a boat wedding. The sun is still shining brightly, but is not directly overhead. With a little pre-planning, you can locate the ceremony on the boat where it will be beautifully lit and still conducive to easy viewing and photographs.
If your wedding and subsequent reception or social gathering extends into the evening on the boat, or if you opt for a night wedding, then be sure to bring a wrap or shawl of some kind. You may want to suggest such a covering to your guests as well.
The night breezes on a boat an also be quite chilly, and you don’t want to be shivering through your ceremony or reception. Likewise, you’ll want your guests to be comfortable as well. Again, this is mostly a consideration if your wedding is on the deck of the ship, not if you are in a large stateroom or lounge protected from the elements.
Planning ahead will enable you to choose just the right time of day for your boat wedding.

Many married couples suffer from the stress of daily life. This ten minute rule is helpful in that it requires you to set a better tone for your interactions with each other. When your spouse arrives home from work, upon your first meeting with them again in a day, be friendly. Give them ten minutes to vent or talk about whatever their day has brought them. Be sure to greet them with a warm loving smile and ask about their day. This little step will likely set the tone for the rest of the time you will be spending in that day.
So many women make the mistake of overwhelming their husband with the problems and issues of the household immediately as soon as they walk through the door, an giving them a bit of attitude if they too have had a rough day. Get freshened up for your husband’s return home, be sure to looka dn smell your best. Greet them with a loving hug and kiss and spend a little time listening to the events of their day. In the first ten minutes they arrive, devote a little time to them, nothing is usually too important that it can’t wait a bit. If you do wait, they will then be more helpful and receptive to your issues.
This may sound like a small task, and it really is, but by doing so you will see your marriage working a lot better. No one wants to feel like they are under attack as soon as we enter the house. Make your home a place they want to return to and not a place they dread coming to and they will be home earlier and on time more often.
Try this and you will find that it helps open up the lines of communication in your marriage and makes your lives together better. Take the time to let your husband know how important he is to you and make him feel that he is the priority as soon as he returns home. Turning your interactions around will give you and your spouse a new perspective on your marriage and on each other.

A chair massage is viewed as more of method of providing physical relaxation than as a form of medical treatment. In 1986, he presented The High Touch Massage Chair which was manufactured by Living Earth Crafts. Hence, the original massage chair was born.
David Palmer’s High Touch Massage Chair was a portable chair that could easily be transported to the requested location. It had a handle, carrying strap, and could fold up for easy transporting. In 1986, the production of a massage chair that was designed to be easily transported and set up at businesses began to be manufactured. This chair was a big hit with masseuses and consumers and they are now sold worldwide.
In 1993, Cary Cruea of Seattle Washington invented The Massage Bar. This is a chair that uses a separate desktop face cradle attached to the countertop.
